InterCare is searching for a Medical Assistant to join our team in Eau Claire!  The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing select clinical and administrative duties as delegated by the licensed physician, in accordance with InterCare policies and procedures.  This position actively participates as a member of the patient care team.

Hours are Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM with one weekday working 10:30 AM to 7 PM.  Candidates for this position may need to be flexible and willing to float on occasion to one of our other Health Centers, including Riverwood.

Experience and Skills:

 Professional and Technical Knowledge

  1. Possesses a general knowledge of clinical practices as acquired through formal training, including a certificate MA program, or associates degree in medical assisting.

  2. Certified by accredited certification body -or- qualifies to test (required at next InterCare test date), and obtains passing score.

  3. BLS Certification, to be completed within two months of employment.

  4. Proficient in customer service and professionalism.

  5. Thorough working knowledge of prevailing standards of care, InterCare’s clinical guidelines, and patient care policies and procedures.

  6. Meets all Safety and regulatory requirements to include but not limited to Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, Infection Control, OSHA and annual competencies.

  7. Completes all annual competencies.

Technical Skills

  1. Proficient in EHR and EPM.

  2. Ability to use and respond to e-mail.

  3. Ability to use other InterCare desktop tools, including Safety Zone, Net Learning, and iTAC.

  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Communication Skills

  1. Possesses a professional level of written and verbal communication skills.

  2. Ability to communicate complex concept in a clear effective manner.

  3. Possesses excellent cross cultural communication skills and the ability to communicate to staff members at all levels.

  4. Bilingual Spanish/English REQUIRED.
