InterCare is searching for a Medical Assistant who is bilingual in English and Spanish to join our team!  The ideal candidate will have experience working in a high paced clinic setting.  This position will be working on a team with more than on provider and requires adaptability and the ability to multi-task.  Responsibilities include screening and discharging patients, scheduling follow-up appointments and diagnostics, administering immunizations, and working with prior authorizations.

This is a full-time position working Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Experience and Skills:


Professional and Technical Knowledge

  1. Possesses a general knowledge of clinical practices as acquired through formal training, including a certificate MA program, or associates degree in medical assisting.

  2. Certified by accredited certification body -or- qualifies to test (required at next InterCare test date), and obtains passing score.

  3. BLS Certification, to be completed within two months of employment.

  4. Proficient in customer service and professionalism.

  5. Thorough working knowledge of prevailing standards of care, InterCare’s clinical guidelines, and patient care policies and procedures.

  6. Meets all Safety and regulatory requirements to include but not limited to Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, Infection Control, OSHA and annual competencies.

  7. Completes all annual competencies.

Technical Skills

  1. Proficient in EHR and EPM.

  2. Ability to use and respond to e-mail.

  3. Ability to use other InterCare desktop tools, including Safety Zone, Net Learning, and iTAC.

  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Communication Skills

  1. Possesses a professional level of written and verbal communication skills.

  2. Ability to communicate complex concept in a clear effective manner.

  3. Possesses excellent cross cultural communication skills and the ability to communicate to staff members at all levels.

  4. Bilingual Spanish/English REQUIRED.
