InterCare is searching for a Prenatal Assistant to join our team! This position is responsible for performing a wide range of non-clinical duties for our prenatal and gynecology patients that help to support the care given by providers and clinical support staff.

Description of Primary Duties & Responsibilities

1.  Provides Call Support

  • Identifies caller’s need and routs to the appropriate personnel.

  • Takes accurate messages and routs to correct personnel.

  • Documents calls in the EHR in the correct template.

2.  Supports clinical workflow

  • Schedules patient appointments

  • Schedules outside diagnostic testing.

  • Performs all duties as related to patient check out including generating the Patient Plan.

3.  Performs other duties as assigned to support OB/GYN clinics

  • Performs interpretation as assigned.

  • Generates Prenatal Record, Master IM and Patient Plan documents as assigned.

  • Scans documents into the appropriate category.

  • Manages reports such as Open Diagnostics and Missing Documents as assigned.

  • Assists patients with Medicaid enrolment or refers for patients without insurance to enroller. 

  • Assures Medicaid eligibility via available eligibility portals.

  6. Must be adaptable and have the ability to multi-task as this position will be working on a team with more than on provider.

  7. Experience working in a high paced clinic setting preferred.

  1. Possesses a thorough understanding of medical office and customer service practices typically acquired through extensive experience in a medical practice environment.

Technical Skills

  1. Proficient in electronic practice management systems.

  2. Ability to use clerical and numerical skills to perform job duties.

  3. Ability to generate letters, forms and documents.

  4. Ability to perform data entry, run reports and operate common office equipment.

  5. Initiates the point of service payment/collection process.

Communication Skills

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  2. Ability to communicate in a clear effective manner.

  3. Possesses excellent cross cultural communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff members at all levels.

  4. Bilingual English/Spanish REQUIRED.
